How to reset your airpods ?

Your step by step guide to reset your Apple Airpods.

Once you figure out how to do it, it's very simple to reset your Apple Airpods or Airpods Pro. It's so simple, in fact, that Apple doesn't even tell you how to do it. They just assume that you'll be able to do it yourself.

In one sentence, you just hold your finger on the button on the back of the charging case until the light turns orange. (Note, of course, that you may have to rename your Airpods after they've been paired to your phone via settings if they've kept the same name as before.)

But, if you've already tried this and it didn't work, we've got a complete step-by-step guide below to simply reset your Airpods.

Step 1. Make sure your Airpods and their charging case are charged

If you tried to reset your Airpods by pressing the button on the back and you don't see the LED flashing, it's probably because the battery is dead. Plug them in for 15 minutes to make sure they're still functional.

Step 2. Open the case, then press and hold the small button on the back of the case

This small button on the back of your earbud charging case is the key to resetting Airpods. Hold it down for 15 seconds and the LED light on the case will turn from white to orange.

Keep the Airpods case away from the phone you're trying to separate from the earphones when you press the back button. If it's too close, it will just suck in the same data and you won't be able to separate them.

That's it, your Airpods are reset!

Step 3. Pair the phone with a new Apple device by holding them close together or pairing them via Bluetooth

Once the Airpods are reset, it's time to sync them with a new iOS device. To do this, simply hold the two devices close together and you should be able to connect by opening the Airpods case and pressing the back button for 15 seconds.

If you are an Android user, you need to go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, and connect them this way.

(Optional) Step 4. Change the name of the Airpods

If you've reset your Airpods but they've stubbornly retained their old name, you'll need to change it by going to Settings > Bluetooth, then clicking the info button ("i") next to the Airpods to change their name.
